Alcatel gains Slovakia NGN contract

　　Alcatel announced today that Slovakia's telecommunications adopted VoIP solution of NGN from Alcatel. Slovakia's telecommunications are a main telecommunication operator of this country, and a company that Deutsche Telekom controlled interest too. The total amount of money of the contract is 25 million euro, is largest order of market in eastern Europe at present. The Alctel's NGN solution based on IP will help Slovakia's telecommunications to open VoIP, the meeting of the multimedia and many kinds of new business that the broadband of strengthening service on a unified platform. According to the agreements of the government of Slovakia and Deutsche Telekom, the prerequisite that Deutsche Telekom purchases Slovakia's telecommunications is to digitize Slovakia's national telecommunication network completely before the end of 2004.
