Nortel Network has won the Award of "2004 Voice Resolution Competition Strategy Award"

　　California, August 2, 2004 - Frost & Sullivan grant Nortel Network the Award of "2004 Voice Resolution Competition Strategy Award" so as to recognize the leading position of the company in the IVR market of North America and its outstanding performance in expanding its market share through innovated products.

　　According to the North America Telephone Voice Technology and Solution Market Report issued by Frost & Sullivan on May 5, 2004, Nortel Network has acquired stable leading position in the deployment of voice technology and enterprise IVR platform.

Korea Telecom tests the ATCA-based new service

　　Korea Telecom recently announces, in its updates testing plan, it will adopt the commercialized AdvancedTCA system groupware to develop its next generation service platform so as to dramatically decrease the time and resources for development. The new application and design of media server platform is used to support a whole set of Korean Telecom services, such as multimedia caller ID, color ring and video conference, etc.

　　Korea Telecom says, IP multimedia service test adopts AdvancedTCA platform constructed on Intel framework. It will allow Korea Telecom to integrate the articles from many first-class supplier into one telecom solution. Korea Telecom believes, two years ago, the similar platform and service only could be accomplished by 10 development staff for more than one year. In the new project, the development time has been shortened by 50% with fewer staff by adopting this standard based method. In addition, Korea Telecom also hopes to decrease the operation cost by half through repeated use of this platform system.
