The voice recognition chip will be put on market in 3 years

　　Recently, National Science Foundation (NSF) gained a financial aid of one million USD for the research and development of voice recognition chip. Professor Rob Rutenbar from the department of Electronics and Computer Science of Carnegie Mellon University will be in charge of the plan.

　　"To handle various kinds of voices freely, you must have a powerful processor, and usually this kind of processor is characterized by huge power consumption", said Rutenbar, "we cannot insert a Pentium processor into our mobile phone or into the helmet of a soldier" "The battery will be used up in 10 minutes"

　　According to a researcher, the purpose of the research is to master the voice recognition techniques. "We will first carry out chip-related research. The research team aims to design a new silicon structure which will be much stronger (maybe 100 times or 1000times) than the common chips of our computer."


Hangzhou Handsome will construct call center for Midea

　　In August of 2004, Guangdong Midea Electric Appliances Company signed a contract with Hangzhou Handsome Electronic Company. According to the contract, Hangzhou Handsome will construct the call center and customer service system for Midea.

　　Hangzhou Handsome will construct a customer service center for Midea. Headquarter of the center will be located in Shunde, Guangdong. It includes 800 telephone numbers and two E1 relay systems. 30 seats will be constructed in the first phase of the project and the number of seats will be increased to 50 in the second phase. The customer service center will make response to and support the requests of the customers all over the country to improve the service quality and customer satisfaction of Midea.

Aculab cooperates with Pulse to support Microsoft Speech Server 2004

　　At the SpeechTek Exhibitions held in New York on September 14, Aculab and Pulse announced that they plan to establish a strategic cooperation relationship to provide voice interface manager which can support the hardware of Aculab voice card and the software of Microsoft Speech Server (MSS).

Callray Communications constructs brand new quality management platform for the national customer service center of China Southern

　　On Sept. 16 of 2004, Callray Communication announced in Shenzhen that it has gained the contract for the construction of the quality management system for the national customer service center (950333) of China Southern. This is the second cooperation between the two sides for the application AP Suite products.

　　Up until now, Callray Communication has provide first-class products and services for the four major airline groups of China, including China Airline, Eastern Airline, China Southern, Hainan Airline.
