U.S. Department of Defense testing VoIP services on IPv6 network
for the 3rd time
U.S. Department of Defense has finished the third test
in the project of upgrading its network, including Internet telephone
test based on the Ipv6 protocol.
Data transmission in the real world was simulated on the Moonv6 network
in the test. According to the interoperable lab of the University of New
Hampshire, this test will lead IPv6 into a new field. Except for testing
the VoIP telephone services, U.S. Department of Defense made an evaluation
on video-frequency broadcast, IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN, fireworks, Ipsec
and other techniques.
Zoom Video constructing the videoconference network for
CNPC Shanxi branch

system and office telephone into a simple interface so that the enterprise
user can hold videoconference on PC or laptop computer.
The new product is named as Avaya Video Telephony Solution: Desktop
Edition. It makes it possible for face-to-face cooperation between employees
at different locations.
There will be a steady increase in the demand for desktop videoconference
system since the enterprises are all trying to improve the cooperation
ability and thus gain advantages in the competition. According to the
report made by Gartner, there will be more than 340 million sets of PC
used in enterprises, government and education institutions around the
globe in 2004.
