Powerise signed contract with AGEKKE for export of software and
output of talents
Recently, Powerise International Software Company, who
has just signed a MBS cooperation agreement with Microsoft, signed another
strategic cooperation agreement with AGEKKE concerning the export of software
and output of talents to Japan.
Although 70% of the software made in China is exported to Japan, the
total business volume accounts for only less than 1% of the Japanese software
market share. Since there are only 20,000 science and engineering majors
who join the software industry in Japan every year, and at present there
are only 200, 000 persons in total engaged in the software industry in
Japan, there is still a great potential on the Japanese market in term
of out-contracting of software development and input of human resources.
From July to December, Powerise has undertaken more than 80 projects as
commissioned by Japanese customers. It sent qualified engineers who are
good at Japanese to Japan to work with the Japanese customers through
the office in Japan. These personnel can communicate directly with the
customers to solve the problems and improve the working efficiency.
British Telecom: Take the place of PSTN with IP network
by 2008
British Telecom plans to invest billions of pounds to construct an IP
network to take the place of the original PSTN in the coming five years.
The company has begun to make VoIP telephone test for the 1500 customers
this year.
Considering the large cost on networks such as PSTN and ATM, British
Telecom decides to integrate the voice and data business into a single
network focused on IP/MPLS, using copper cable or optical fibers to integrate
various kinds of business at the access point.
Construction of the new network is of great significance for the development
of British Telecom. At present, the company is communicating with about
50 providers in the world to select the cooperation partners. The cooperation
contract will be signed at the end of the year.
Telecom Italia: Transition to IP network
As early as October 2002, Telecom Italia announced that
they would start a project for the transition from TDM into IP network.
The project was completed by the first quarter of 2004, at least a year
ahead of the time limit made before. Thus, Telecom Italia has the earliest
and largest IP telephone network in Europe. It spent two to four years
less than the time France Telecom, German Telecom, Spanish Telecom and
British Telecom have taken in fulfilling the transition form TDM to IP.
According to the original plan, by the end of 2003 Telecom Italia will
increase the business volume transmitted through IP network to 80% of
the total volume. The result is that the percentage has reached 100% in
term of internal voice call by October 2003. It is anticipated that with
the completion of the project, Telecom Italia will enjoy a reduction of
66% in the operation cost.
