Microsoft cooperating with ScanSoft to develop voice recognition techniques

　　Microsoft announced that it would use the text-voice conversion technique provided by Scansoft in the server software products.
According to the two companies, all the products as made by Scansoft will be involved in the business. Microsoft will also have the right of using customized voice software.

　　Nowadays, hi-tech companies are working hard to develop voice recognition software so that the users can operate the mobiles with oral order. This kind of software can also help the auto customer service system make better response to the voice recognition system. As one of the leading provider of voice recognition software, Scansoft also drew the attention of giants like IBM in the computer industry.

Synway cooperating with Netcom

　　In this October, the products manufactured by Hangzhou Synway was adopted by Netcom. This is the first cooperation between the two companies. In August 2004, Synway put the first 16E1 super high density digital media card on domestic market, which is also the second 16E1 card on the global market, following NMS, the world major provider of such products.

　　One of the major factors leading to the success of the cooperation is that Synway has found that there is a great demand on the market for the new generation of value-added telecom and multi-media telecom products and services, which provides an effective way of improving the competition power of Synway voice card.

Verizon Wireless becomes the first color bell service provider in America

　　Verizon Wireless announced that it would provide customized bell (color bell) services so that the user can take the place of bell with real music. Sacramento and south of California will be the first area who enjoy such a service.

　　According to Jim Straight, vice president of the department of wireless data and multi-media department of Verizon Wireless, SK Telecom (Korea) has provided a significant support during the period. As the world first operator providing such a color bell service, SK is quite experienced in this field. After that, Verizon will go on cooperating with SK.
At present, the monthly subscription fee of the service is 0.99USD/month (1.99USD for each music). The service life is one year. All these fees will be showed on the telephone bills of the user every month.

　　Verizon anticipates that in the mid of 2005, the color bell service will be available all over the network.
