27% of the enterprises will apply VoIP in 2006
According to the latest research report made by Infonetics, the wireless
LAN technique is gaining market share with an amazing speed. With the
improvement of safety features and the delay in marketing the enterprise-oriented
products, the wireless LAN is becoming one of the major IT facilities
for enterprises. It is anticipated that in 2006 the laptop connecting
to wireless LAN will experience a dynamic growth.
At present, the major application on wireless LAN is still Internet
access, including e-mail and website browsing. However, there will be
more complicated applications in the near future. For example, 49% of
the users will apply ERP on the wireless LAN.
Another promising application on the wireless LAN is voice VoIP. At
present, only 8% of the users apply the WLAN solutions, but the percentage
will increase to 27% by August 2006, when the percentage among large enterprises
will be as high as 33%.
An increase of 69% on the VoIP market (at the level of
operator) in the 3rd quarter
According to the latest research report made by Infonetics,
in the third quarter of the year the total income from the sale of the
next generation of voice products on the global market will reach 452
million USD, an increase of 13% than last quarter and 69% than last year.
It is anticipated that the annual income on the market will be increased
from the 1.3 billion USD in 2003 to 4.8 billion USD in 2007, with a compound
annual growth rate of 39%.
According to Kevin Mitchell, the major analyst and report writer of
Infonetics, the number of most of the equipment, particularly voice application
server and voice channel boundary controller, will experience a growth
in this quarter. It shows that the service providers are changing strategies,
transferring the investment from infrastructure to the next generation
of facilities.
