Sales of mobile phone enhancing the development of VoIP IC market
According to In-Stat, the sales value of VoIP IC will
increase from 137.6 million USD (2003) to 938.4 million USD in 2008. Major
force for the quick growth of sales comes from the "double mode"
cellular mobile phone (through WLAN) which has VoIP functions. This kind
of mobile will gain the favor of major customers in 2006, and occupy more
market share after 2007.
In-Stat thinks that VoIP has a bright prospect. Sam Lucero, analyst of
In-Stat says: "although it is the fixed VoIP that develops first,
the mobile VoIP business will provide more opportunities for the providers
of VoIP chip and equipment.
In-Stat also points out that within the forecast period, all the mobile
phone will have the Wi-Fi functions.
