ALGERIE TELECOM 's ADSL network put into operation

On Feb 12 of 2005, ALGERIE TELECOM and Huawei co-held the "News Release on the Strategic Cooperation between Algeria Telecom and Huawei for the application of ADSL network FAWRI" at the capital of Algeria, announcing that the ADSL network of ALGERIE TELECOM as constructed by Huawei will be put into operation for business purpose.

On Oct. 13 of 2004, Huawei signed a contract with ALGERIE TELECOM. According to the contract, the two sides will work together to construct and operate the ADSL network (500,000 lines) covering the whole country. At present, the network constructed in Phase I has been finished and put into operation, providing services, such as high-speed Internet browsing, VoIP, video request, in four major cities in Algeria (all the commercial and residential areas in Algiers, Oran, Constantine and Ogra).

Up until now, Huawei's ADSL equipment has been applied in over 30 countries in the world (over1400 interfaces), including America, France, Germany and Singapore.
