Market distribution of videoconference products in 2004

With the development of broadband facilities, the video telecom techniques are applied in various fields, and it has been an urgent demand for the government and enterprises to make use of remote video telecom techniques.
Due to the breakout of SARS, the videoconference market developed rapidly in 2004. Manufacturers all expected much from this market. However, the outcome of the development in 2004 didn't reach the expectation value yet. Besides, the fever of videoconference in 2003 led to the birth of more than 140 providers of videoconference in 2004 in China.

With the popularization of broadband network and the rapid development of e-government affair, the domestic videoconference market has been developing rapidly and continuously. The government and major industries, such as financial industry, are still the major market for videoconference products.

With the development of education informatization and popularity of remote education, the demand for videoconference products in education industry is increasing steadily.

The breakout of SARS in 2003 reflected the weakness in informatization in the medical industry. In 2004, China decided to speed up the informatization of medical industry and for this reason informatization techniques developed rapidly and widely in the medical industry.

Videoconference products are mainly used for remote medical treatment. However, due to the limitation of network and due to the limited awareness of people about remote medical treatment, the application of videoconference products was limited to some extent.

Due to the actual condition of the power industry (geological factors), videoconference system is playing an important role in production management and communications between departments. In 2004, the application of videoconference system in power industry was enhanced further.

As for modern military industry, communication is of great importance. The communication method was once limited to word and voice, while today, due to the above mentioned factor, videoconference is more and more popular. The sales of videoconference products in the military amounted to 8.4% of the total value in 2004.
