VOIP cannot enjoy "911" service without making declaration
American communications management authority said on Tuesday that VoIP
service providers must inform their users about the restriction on "911"
call service. The deadline for this was postponed for a month.
According to Reuters.com, due to the terrorism problems, FCC warned the
users of VoIP service that they may not enjoy 24-hours "911"
service through the Internet. The users who got the notice from FCC are
required to deliver a declaration to the relevant authority before August
29 of this year, otherwise, they will not get VoIP service any more. Analysts
say that the number of users who enjoy customized Internet service has
exceeded 2 million, and it is not easy to send the notice to all of them.
