Huawei honored as "2005 the Best Wireless Equipment Provider"

Asia-Pacific Mobile Telecom Development Forum (the first annual meeting), which has attracted much attention of the world, was held in Beijing on July 28. At the meeting, experts from home and abroad made a thorough discussion on hot topics, such as industrial structure, development trend, regional cooperation, business opportunities and so on. Due to the outstanding achievement made in the first half year in the filed of 3G, Huawei was taken at the forum as an example for others and was granted the honor of "2005 the Best Wireless Equipment Provider".

Avaya (NYSE: AV), the world leading provider of enterprise telecom software, system and services, announced on July 25 that its business income in the third quarter of 2005 amounted to 194 million USD, with an earnings per share of 40 cents. The diluted business income was 123 million USD, with a diluted earnings per share of 14 cents. The business profits increased from 52 million USD (last year) to 76 million USD (this year).

Turnover of the company in the third quarter of 2005 experienced an increase of 21.7% compared with that of the last year, to 1236 million USD (turnover in the same period of the last year was 1016 million USD), and an increase of 1% compared with the turnover in the second quarter of this year (1222 million USD). Meanwhile, the cash flow in the third quarter also increased by 126 million USD.
