FAX99, the first e-fax in China, being available now

As a traditional communications means, fax is not as important as it was before. According to the statistics, there were 2.7 million faxes sold in 2004, with a total sales value of 2.7 billion RMB. The sales of fax-related consumption materials on domestic market in the year amounted to about 3 billion RMB. Although the sales volume is declining year by year, it won't exit the market in the near future.

It is still a hot topic in the telecom industry that whetherVoIP service, such as Skype and GoogleTalk, will be available in China In spite of this, e-Fax, or FOIP (fax over IP) has emerged in China. It is known through an interview that Beijing Yuantel Communications Company is now cooperating with E-FAX, a listed American company (NASDAQ) and Beijing Netcom to provide the first e-fax service in China by combining fax with Internet. This has attracted tens of thousands of subscribers up until now.

Harvest Fund Management Company cooperating with ITApps again for the development of software for the customer service center

To provide better service to the investors and sales agents, Harvest Fund Management Company signed a contract with ITApps in August 2005 for the development of software for the customer service center. This is another big project undertaken by ITApps since it provided IVR and CTI solutions to Harvest Fund Management Company in 2001.

IDC's research shows 70% of the senior management personnel in the Asia-Pacific region are in favor of remote officing

Avaya, the world leading provider of enterprise telecom software, system and service, publicized a research report on remote officing in the Asia-pacific region. It shows that 70% of the senior management personnel of the enterprises in this region support the idea of remote officing, and think this can improve the working efficiency and competitive edge.

As required by Avaya, IDC carried out a research titled Mobile Officing in Asia-Pacific Region. Objectives of the research are the 2000 major decision makers of transnational and local enterprises in this region. It is aimed to know about the influence of mobile officing on the enterprises in this region.

The result is exciting: 70% of the interviewees say that they have much confidence in mobile officing, especially in New Zealand, South Korea and India, where the rate are 95%, 87% and 84% respectively. They are followed by Malaysia, Philippine and Singapore, where the rate is as high as 70%. Suprisingly, Chinese management personnel, who are relatively conservative in this regard, also support the idea of remote officing. They hope to improve the working efficiency in this way.
