Nokia and TeliaSonera anticipating that mobile-phone based e-mail service will grow dramatically

Sweden telecom company TeliaSonera and Nokia anticipate that in the coming year the mobile-phone based e-mail service will grow rapidly, although the growth is restrained somehow at present.

Nokia and TeliaSonera has made a survey on the mobile phone surbscribers of Scandinavia Peninsula, which shows that 14% of the subscribers have used the mobile phones to send and receive e-mails.

Besides, over 50% of those who have not such experience say that they will use the service in a year. This will lead to a dramatic growth of it.

The investigation made by Nokia shows that the data on Scandinavia Peninsula is higher than the average value in Europe, but is the same with it in the general development trend.

The investigation made by Nokia and TeliaSonera shows that the subscribers are reluntant to use such service because of the small screen and unconvenient keyboard of the mobile phone. This is the major reason restraining the development of mobile phone based e-mail service.
