Skype cooperating with Radio Shack for the sales of Skype telephone set

Skype, the world famous Internet phone service provider, is planning to sell telephone set through Radio Shack, a famous American retailer of electronic products.

Skype, having 66,000,000 subscribers, is mainly engaged in providing low-cost or free-of-charge Internet phone service in Europe and Asia. It says that it will sell Skype telephone set through the 3500 branch stores of Radio Shack.

Skype will also provide relevant software that is easy to install. With the software the users can make a call to the computer or to the telephone set. In terms of function, it is something like sharing a music file. Not like Vonage, it doesn't need a central switch, and for this reason the operation cost of it is very low.

ZTE will cooperate with Cisco to develop the Asia-pacific telecom market

On Nov. 22 of 2005, Cisco and ZTE announced that they had signed a strategic agreement. According to the agreement, they will cooperate in the telecom market of China and Asia-Pacific region (not including Japan), to develop comprehensive solutions for NGN, 3G and data service, and find new business opportunities.
According to the contract, Ciso and ZTE will work together to meet the rapidly increasing demand on the Asia-pacific telecom market by enhancing the development of information technology and telecom technology. They will also work together to provide customer service solutions and seek for new business opportunities. Earlier this month, the two sides signed this contract in Shenzhen, where the headquarter of ZTE is located.

U.S.Department of Justice approving the merging of Siebel Systems with Oracle

Siebel Systems, the world leading provider of customer service solutions, announced that the U.S.Department of Justice has approved the merging of Siebel Systems and Oracle.The merging also depends on the decision of European Committee. The two companies believe that it will be completed in the first quarter of the next year.
