Avaya enlarging the leading margin on the IP voice telecom market

Avaya, the world leading provider of enterprise telecom products and services, announced recently that it is still in the leading position in the world telecom market in the 3rd quarter of 2005, with the income and sendout of ports increasing significantly at a rate much higher than that of other manufacturers. This conclusion is from a research report released recently by Synergy Research on enterprise voice telecom. Compared with that in the last quarter, Avaya's market share increased from 21% to 22%, and the sales income increased from 23% to 25%. Up until now, it has been in the leading position for consecutive eight quarters.

According to the financial report (dated on Sept. 30) of Avaya, the sales income has increased by 11.5% over that of the last quarter. Meanwhile, Avaya signed a contract with Allstate and ABN AMRO for IP voice telecom system. In that quarter, Avaya sold the 7,000,000th IP voice port. The sendout of IP voice port in the 4th quarter was about 1,000,000.
Meanwhile, the sales income from IP voice telecom solutions and software has exceeded that from traditional telecom system.

2005 International VoIP Expo was held in Shanghai on Nov. 23. The Expo, lasting for two days, attracted over 20 domestic and foreign enterprises to discuss issues on VoIP solutions. The exhibition booth of world famous manufactures, such as AudioCodes and Avaya, has drawn much attention of the participants. Domestic manufacturers of hardware and soft switch, including UP Technologies and 218 TS, all exhibited new products made by themselves.

Edify merging with Intervoice

The world largest voice services provider, Edify and Intervoice signed a contract to combine the voice self service to enhance the business development. The application of new techniques and standards in the basic voice solutions will surely enhance the growth of business. Both Intervoice and Edify have successfully led the whole industry in completing technical transfer for voice recognition and standardization.
