The Urban Emergency Response System of Liuzhou city constructed by Asian Olympic Digital has been accepted

The Urban Emergency Response System of Liuzhou City, another outstanding work by Asian Olympic Digital following the urban emergency response system of Nanjing city, was accepted after the testing and trial operation.

Unicom providing mobile navigator in 114 cities, charging 18 RMB yuan a month

Unicom announced recently in Beijing that it has launched mobile navigator service in 114 cities in China at the beginning of this month, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Wuhan.

Before this, Unicom tried to develop mobile navigator into one of the major VASs, like SM and CRBT, through CDMA mobile phone. It says that the traditional vehicle-carrying GPS navigator is usually sold at 5000-20000 RMB yuan, while mobile navigator costs only 18 RMB yuan a month. In addition to the lower cost, it is much more convenient for the users.
Now, Unicom is contacting with mobile phone manufacturers, including SAMSUNG, LG and HISENSE, to increase the variety of model. Up until now only SAMSUNG SCH-W219 has such a function.

China Mobile's WAP business experienced dramatic growth in 2005

At the 2006 Annual Meeting of China Telecom Economy held on Jan. 5, Ms Liu Jia from China Mobile Telecom Research Institute presented the great achievements made by China Mobile in 2005. Among these achievements, the rapid development of Monternet is well known to all.

At present, Monternet has about 700 cooperating SPs outside China, and over 2000 cooperating SPs inside China.

The market of Monternet is very big, with 277 short message centers, 18 WAP gateways. In 2005, WAP will be the most rapidly growing data service, with an annual growing rate of over 120%, and the income from it will grow by over 5 times. Meanwhile, China Mobile will earn more from color ring service. For example, in August of 2005, it earned 77.5% more than it did in Jan (earned over 400,000,000 RMB yuan in August)
