Brand VoIP service providers beating Skype
According to the report from Sandvine, the provider of broadband network
management solutions, IP telephone products bundled to broadband service
are much popular than the third-party products. The company says that
in Europe Skype has been overtaken by BT (Britain), Wanadoo (France) and
AOL (America) in the fourth quarter of last year.
According to the conversation time, in the fourth quarter VoIP service
provided by famous European providers accounted for 51.2% of the market,
while the share taken by Skype dropped to 45%; Service provided by Vonage
accounts for less than 1% of the market, and that from the third party
accounts for 3.5%. This trend also appeared in North America. Research
shows America's famous provider shares 53% of the market, while Skype
shares only 21.7% and the third party shares only 14.4%.
SIEMENS cooperating with IBM to provide VoIP service
SIEMENS announced on Monday that it was cooperating with IBM to provide
IP telephone service through E-mail and IM software.
The two companies are planning to build SIEMENS HiPath soft switch system
into IBM's Lotus Notes and Domino software through VoIP. Once this is
realized, the users can enjoy IP telephone service and network conference
services by a simple click. SIEMENS says in a declaration that the completely
constructed system will probably be available this summer.
Oracle acquired Siebel Systems successfully
Local time, this Tuesday, Oracle declared that it has finished the acquisition
of Siebel Systems. In earlier time of that day, Siebel's shareholders
voted for this.
The acquisition further consolidates Oracle's position in CRM market and
in the competition with its major competitor---SAP. Larry Ellison, CEO
of Oracle, declared that after the acquisition Oracle has become the world
largest CRM software provider.
Oracle announced in last September that it intended to acquire Siebel
Systems at a cost of 6,000,000,000 U.S. dollar. Then it said in last Dec.
that it hoped to finish the acquisition on about Jan.31.
