China Telecom will provide VoIP service in Hong Kong

China Telecom is the first Mainland operators providing network telephone service in Hong Kong. With such service Hong Kong users can make phone calls to China Mainland at rather a low cost.
Chinese government has been very strict in this regard. Up until now, China Telecom has only been approved to do VoIP business in Shenzhen and Shangrao, and it is prohibited to make international phone calls through Internet. Lintech, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangdong Telecom Industrial Group, under China Telecom, will hold a news press next Monday to public the plan for business development in Hong Kong.
With such service, the user in Hong Kong can make phone calls to the Mainland through a broadband telephone box connected to the Internet. They don't have to pay the international telephone fees any more. China Mainland users can also enjoy such service, making international phones at the cost of local telephone fee only.
In Hong Kong, City Telecom (H.K.) and New World Telecom have provided VoIP service (bundled to fixed telephone number) already.
