Alcatel forecasts that there will be 100,000,000 IPTV users in the world by 2010

Christian Reinaudo, president of Alcatel Asia Pacific said recently in an interview that the telecom market of Asia-Pacific region is in a transformation.
Considering the dramatic growth of multi-media business and the demand of the users of different terminal equipment for the same kind of services, the operators will have to reconstruct and improve the existing network. For example, the individual users and enterprise users need not only basic voice and data service, but also innovative video services. The analysis result reveals that by the year 2010 the number of IPTV users will be increased to about 100,000,000, while that in the Asia-Pacific region will be increased to about 16,500,000.

TWM exhibited two new solutions

Taiwan Mobile (TWM) exhibited IP-MVPN and 3G-PC two-way video telecom solution. TWM is the first company in China providing such service on mixed network (WiMax, WiFi, 2G and 3G). These services may help the commercial customers improve the working efficiency.
3G-PC two-way video-voice technology is also an up-to-date technology in Taiwan. TWM has integrated 3G video platform and PC video platform. Through it, mobile users can realize video communications with PC easily.

University of Macao adopting Avaya IP voice telecom solution
