China will set up SOS rescue organization

On 20th, the general secretary Gu Erxiong in Emergency Rescue Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs said that the SOS rescue system will go into trying operation by the end of next Spring Festival.

It’s said that the society rescue in the developed countries are mainly carried out by the rescue companies nowadays, while in China the rescue system includes the professional rescue organizations and rescue groups such as the police, the fire fighting, the earthquake rescue, the air rescue and the rescue at sea , depending on basically the government.

Gu Erxiong said that Emergency Rescue Center are planned to set up our own SOS rescue organization formally in the fourth quarter. The organization includes SOS call center working 24 hours per day and they will set up the emergency sending system mainly made up of the air rescue organizations.

Now the air rescue company mainly made up of 24 helicopters is being set up. Other sending systems are also being built. After SOS rescue company is set up, they intend to sign agreements with the army. Then the helicopters can be used when necessary.
