Biggest Earphone Procuder Shut Down Xiamen Factory and Started to Shift

The biggest earphone producer in the world Denmark-based GN Netcom has decided to shut down its only factory. Tang Ruijin, Senior Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Region of the GN Netcom, has confirmed the news recently in the interview. Located in Xiamen, Fujian, the factory possesses over 2000 employees and is one of the largest solely foreign-funded enterprises in the region. After the shutdown, the GN Netcom has outsourced all the production capabilities except R&D and logistic functions.

The shutdown marks the ending to a “manufacturing enterprise”. As the biggest earphone producer in the world, the GN Netcom has offered earphone OEM/ODM services to almost all the large-scale mobile phone producers in the world. Since the outsourcing strategy is adopted, the GN Netcom has started a strategic shift to create its own brand.
