图5是NMS公司的VoATM典型网关结构。
为具体起见,图6给出一个960话音端口的应用方案,其中用到了三种NMS公司的设备:AG-4000c、S007和TX-3220c,图中未列出用来运行应用程序的CPU板(AG4000系列板卡不含CPU,而AG600eC包含了CPU)。

缩略语:
CP-IWF:Customer Premise Inter-working
Function,用户侧(用户端)网络互连功能。
CO-IWF:Central Office Inter-working Function:局端(中心局)网络互连功能。
VS:Voice-band Service,话带业务。
IS:In-band Signaling,带内信令(随路信令)。
SSCS:Service Specific Convergence Sublayer,(特定)业务会聚子层。
CPS:Common Part Sublayer,公共(部分)子层。
CAS:Channel Associated Signaling,随路信令。
CCS:Common Channel Signaling,公共信道信令,即带外信令(SS7等)。
